MiniMax releases M3.1 Flash with faster inference and 70% lower agent costs

MiniMax released M3.1 Flash, which it says reaches leading-model levels on agentic, coding, computer use, and cybersecurity benchmarks. The company reports output speeds above 170 tokens per second at the median and a 70% lower usage cost for agentic tasks than its predecessor. Pricing is $0.15 per million input tokens and $0.60 per million output tokens, and the model is available through the MiniMax API, M Plan, and MiniMax Code, with weights to follow later.

Cloudflare introduces Clairic, a System One model for extracting and estimating values

Cloudflare has released a preview of Clairic, a System One extraction model hosted on Workers AI as @cf/cloudflare/clairic. It extracts, computes, estimates, and forecasts typed values from unstructured input in a single pass, with confidence scores and 80% intervals, and no output tokens. In the post's email-claim pipeline, Clairic and Clef ran in 19.3 seconds against 61.7 seconds for an all-LLM version, at 49% lower cost per million claims. Cloudflare says the model will be released with open weights soon.

Meta's Muse Glimmer is now available on Design Arena

Design Arena says Meta's Muse Glimmer, a 30B-parameter open-weight model, is now available on its platform. Meta describes it as built for always-on local agents, with function calling, local coding, and LLM-as-a-judge evaluation, running on a Mac or PC with a single consumer GPU. Meta releases the model weights under an Apache 2.0 license.

AWS releases TorchNeuron, an open-source native PyTorch backend for Trainium

AWS announces TorchNeuron, an open-source native PyTorch backend that lets models run on Trainium2 and Trainium3 through the standard device API. Users switch devices with .to('neuron') and can use eager mode, torch.compile, and custom NKI kernels. The project ships under Apache 2.0 as a public beta on Oct. 20, 2026.

Meta details how it built and stabilized its Prometheus AI supercluster

Meta says the first phase of its gigawatt-scale Prometheus supercluster in New Albany, Ohio, is complete and was used to train its Muse models, with a goal of roughly 1 million GPUs. The company reports that interruptions fell 99% from their mid-2025 peak through firmware fixes, telemetry, and cross-partner work with NVIDIA, and that MTBI rose to more than 54K GPU hours.

Prime Intellect releases prime-rl 0.10.0 with a new RL loss and unified eval stack

Prime Intellect releases prime-rl v0.10.0 and verifiers v0.4.0, making its new IPO loss the default for RL training. In an agentic SWE RL ablation on GLM-4.5-Air, IcePop collapsed around step 1.2k while IPO at eps 0.3 trained through, masking about 0.25% of tokens versus about 2% at the old 0.1. The release also adds throughput gains, new model support, and a single uv run eval command for training and standalone evaluation.

Anthropic explains how it redesigned source control for agent-scale monorepo growth

Anthropic says it built Scion, an in-house version control system, and migrated its monorepo from git in five months as merged changes rose from about 2,500 to over 30,000 per day. The post explains that Scion assumes always-online clients, keeps the server authoritative, and uses content-addressed caches to avoid full repository copies. Anthropic reports that its infrastructure footprint is 200x smaller than its previous git mirroring setup and that CI checkouts run in seconds rather than minutes.

Meta explains how a thin orchestrator made its AI agents more reliable

Meta says it built a 1,300-line orchestrator that routes 20+ workflows to 14 specialized AI agents and performs no domain work itself. The company reports that configuration prep for a new column dropped from three to four days by hand, and about a day with its earlier system, to under an hour. It also says about two-thirds of the system's changes land without significant human edits.

How Numan built an eval-first AI health coach with LangGraph and LangSmith

Numan describes how it built Nu, an AI health coach, to avoid medical diagnosis, prescriptions, and clinical decisions. The team found that single-turn fixtures and scripted conversations failed to test multi-turn coaching, so it scores per-category, runs the same graph in production and tests, and simulates patient conversations. Clinicians sign off the rubric, and a boundary regression blocks releases.
