How are launches found?About this list

A launch is anything our AI files as a product update or an open-source release: new products, features, apps, tools and APIs, from the news and X posts we follow. Model releases stay out unless the coverage is mostly about a product that ships them. Only startups are here: smaller companies, indie makers, solo founders and small open-source projects. Launches by frontier labs (OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, DeepSeek, Moonshot), big tech (Microsoft, NVIDIA, Apple) and companies valued at $1 billion or more (Databricks, Cursor, ElevenLabs) are in Frontier, so the startups are not drowned out. Our AI decides who made a launch when it reads it, from a list we keep and, for a company not on it, whether it is known to be worth $1 billion.

Posts about the same launch become one card: posts grouped into one story, a thread from one account, posts linking the same page, or headlines naming the same product. Once a launch is listed, AI reads its headlines, summaries and most liked post and writes its name, its maker and a line on what it is; two cards naming the same product by the same maker within 72 hours become one, and a card AI finds is a joke, a rumor, an opinion, a tutorial, fundraising news, an integration between products that already exist or an update to an established product is dropped.

A launch is listed once it goes viral: 3 or more people posting about it, or one post about it, the maker's or anyone's, with 300 likes when we collected it. A launch our editors picked is listed however few people post about it.

Buzzing now counts the voices, each one counting less as its post ages (half after 24 hours), plus the likes and reposts and a small boost for picks. Likes are counted when we collect a post and keep growing on X. It measures attention, not quality.
