Apple Creator Studio adds AI features and MCP support to office apps

AIApple's Creator Studio update adds AI features across Final Cut Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Logic Pro, and Keynote, Pages, and Numbers. Keynote, Pages, and Numbers add MCP support, so external AI agents and tools can read content, edit it, and run automations.

AIWhy it matters.

The post breaks down which Apple Creator Studio apps gain AI features, which are beta or limited, and how MCP lets external agents read and edit documents.

Apple Creator Studio Major Update: AI Added to Editing, Imaging, Music, and Productivity, and Office Apps Can Now Be Operated by External Agents

Apple's update roughly follows three directions:
1. Bringing professional content such as MotionVFX, video assets from Content Hub, and a more complete sound browser in Logic into subscription benefits
2. Adding natural-language assistants and generative editing to Pixelmator, Logic, as well as Keynote, Pages, and Numbers (mostly in beta, dependent on Apple Intelligence-compatible devices, and currently only in American English)
3. Supporting MCP across the three productivity apps, with Keynote also introducing the .keyx exchange format for external tools and Agents, so documents are being designed to be readable and writable from outside

Video and Motion Graphics
Final Cut Pro (Mac) now includes MotionVFX, with thousands of elements including templates, transitions, tracking, keying, and color grading. Editors can open Content Hub within the app to use Apple-curated videos, images, and backgrounds without leaving their editing workflow. Images on the timeline can be opened directly in Pixelmator Pro, with changes written back to the project automatically, eliminating the need to re-import. Image generation from text with style adjustments is also supported within projects. On the workflow side, there are more keyframe easing options; clips can be detached from the primary storyline and placed anywhere on the timeline; and transcription adds 23 more languages.

Motion also includes MotionVFX-related plug-ins (cinematic color grading, 3D camera tracking, one-click selection, etc.), supports generating and modifying images from text, passing images back and forth with Pixelmator, finer keyframe easing, and a new Displacement filter. Compressor now supports encoding cinematic mode videos shot on iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo.

Images
Pixelmator Pro adds Generate Fill: circle an area on the canvas, or use tools such as freeform, quick, or magnetic selection, then describe the desired change in natural language. Generated results aim to closely match the surrounding lighting, perspective, and texture; built-in super-resolution keeps images sharp even when enlarged. Generated content can be merged into an existing layer or inserted as a new layer with a smart mask, making further fine-tuning easy.

Music
Logic Pro's interface now adopts Liquid Glass. On Mac, a new smart assistant is added (beta, using both Apple's in-house models and third-party models): it can start writing a song from a single sentence, set up vocal tracks, or help refine the current project. The browser has been redesigned to consolidate loops, instruments, effects, and more in one place; on-device music understanding automatically analyzes, categorizes, and tags sounds, and you can also drag in a sound to find similar material; Splice's sound library is also integrated. Stem Splitter can separate, replace, or balance drum kits in finer detail without relying on the original multitrack recordings. There is also the Sergio George Producer Pack; some voice memos recorded on iPhone can use Studio Sound to reduce ambient noise and hiss before fine-tuning in Logic.

Productivity and Automation
Keynote, Pages, and Numbers add in-app assistants for subscribers (Apple's models and OpenAI), able to work with the current document context: Keynote helps design, add animations, and edit slides; Pages drafts and rewrites; Numbers calculates, visualizes, and organizes data, with one-click previews of suitable charts, and can also build custom tables using world knowledge. With new MCP support, external AI Agents and tools can directly read content, revise drafts, and perform automated operations. Content Hub adds stock videos and new template themes. Keynote supports .keyx: an open package format based on JSON, making it easy for external tools, development workflows, and Agents to read. Freeform adds text styling and background colors; starting in December, you can also edit images in Pixelmator and generate editable shapes from text descriptions.
