A MacRumors teardown found that some 8GB M4 iPad Pro units contain two Micron Z8DMS memory packages rated at 6GB each, for 12GB installed, according to a QbitAI report.

Apple lists 8GB as the usable memory.

The 12GB figure comes from chip package markings. No evidence confirms whether the extra 4GB can be enabled, and the reports do not say why Apple limits the iPad Pro to 8GB.
