NVIDIA's Bryan Catanzaro says math as a hobby does not have to change because AI now solves math problems.

In a post on X, he argues that hobbies such as music and baking are valued for the enjoyment of the work rather than for being first, and compares AI solving math to machines baking bread, which he says does not destroy baking as a hobby.

His reply was to a post by @EigenGender, who sympathized with mathematicians whose publicly funded hobby is now less fun.
