Shoppers can go to shop.md to access a single skill that will turn any agent into a personal shopper. Developers can go to shop.dev for a single API to build shopping into their app or agent.
I’ve spent the majority of my waking hours in and around shopping for the last 15 years; as the co-founder of multiple brands, a tool builder at Shopify, and a lover of well-made products, I'm obsessed with the experience of shopping.
And lately, nearly all of them involve my agent (I call him Terry).
My agent and I have had hundreds of conversations. He researched and bought my entertainment system, then walked me through installing it. He’s tracked down outfits I spotted on Instagram and sourced gifts for my family.
But I still have to do a lot of manual work to give him the context he needs to shop for me.

Introducing shop.md and shop.dev
shop.md gives buyers a skill that turns their agent into a personal shopper that’s personalized through their Shop account.
Shopping isn’t just about the search. Every agent can search the web, but to shop, it needs up-to-date availability, deep metadata about things like fabrics and fit, and what you bought last month.
Head to shop.md to install a single skill for your agent:
- Sign in with Shop: Give your agent access to over a billion products, and your order history to pick up on your sizes and preferences.
- Checkout with Shop Pay: One tap checkout happens right in the conversation, using the card and address you've already saved. You approve every purchase, and your card is never shared with the agent.
- Track your orders: Your agent can track your orders, and you’ll find them on Shop next to everything else you've bought.
- Personalize the skill: At shop.md you can add your own preferences and rules so your agent can shop like you.
