AFL tells Sportsbet to stop using players in AI-generated content

The AFL has told its official gambling partner, Sportsbet, to stop featuring players in AI-generated social media content without permission and to delete existing videos.

The clips showed AFL stars such as Lachie Neale and Will Ashcroft delivering movie and TV lines to react to real events. The AFL Players' Association said the videos breached the 2023-2027 collective bargaining agreement, which makes no mention of AI.
