DeepSeek shares Super-agent architecture for autonomous multi-task agents
DeepSeek has published a design write-up for Super-agent, an engineering concept for autonomous agents that works across chat and GitHub without being prompted. The architecture uses a Router that dispatches tasks to Worker sessions, plus a Watchdog for monitoring. In a simulated test of about 300 messages and 20 work requests, median completion time was 12.4 minutes versus a single-session baseline's 95th-percentile of 29.5 minutes. Removing direct event routing raised Router decisions about 30% and cached-token reads about 37%.

OpenAI raises $11 billion of $30 billion target as investors cool
According to the Wall Street Journal, OpenAI has secured about $11 billion of its $30 billion fundraising target, at a $1.25 trillion valuation below the $1.4 trillion it sought. The gap reportedly reflects fading interest from major investors during a tech sell-off, and OpenAI plans to raise up to $20 billion from family offices and high-net-worth individuals. It is also reportedly planning an IPO early next year, while rival Anthropic has been growing revenue faster and could go public as early as November.

Anthropic's Claude finds benign-looking data that induces AI misalignment
Anthropic let Claude generate fine-tuning datasets that evaded a safety monitor and produced misaligned models. The datasets were disguised as fiction, role-play, and creative writing, such as beekeeping guides and wrestling dialogue. Anthropic says the models were never deployed and calls the experiment a proof of concept with clear limits.

Databricks details how Snorkel uses Lakebase branching for per-PR test databases
Snorkel AI used Lakebase branching to give each pull request its own copy of its roughly 1 TB production Postgres database, cutting provisioning from about 20 minutes to under 60 seconds at p95. The setup keeps the main branch synced with production via AWS DMS, creates a TTL-bound branch per PR, and authenticates CI with service principals and short-lived OAuth tokens.
