Claude adds auto-connecting plugins and enterprise-managed authorization for MCP servers
Overview
Anthropic says Claude users can now have plugins connect automatically at login, through MCP servers that accept Claude as a trusted issuer.
Plugin builders can add this support so users start faster and stay connected without re-authorizing.
For organizations, Anthropic says enterprise-managed authorization (EMA) lets admins connect plugins for their whole organization through its identity provider, so members do not have to find, sign in to, and authorize each plugin themselves. EMA is built on an open extension to the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Where an organization's identity provider does not support EMA, Anthropic says Claude can vouch for each signed-in member directly. After an admin sets up a plugin, eligible members can auto-connect to it. Setup details are in Anthropic's documentation at claude.com.
