AI ghost-hunting apps such as GhostTube Seer divide paranormal enthusiasts and critics
Overview
Paranormal investigators Amy Waine and Jarrad Cutting developed GhostTube Seer, an app that uses phone magnetometer signals and an image generator to produce supernatural images.
They say it has more than 1 million downloads on Google Play. Ghost hunter and researcher Alex Matsuo questions what data such tools train on and whether they create paranormal echo chambers.
Sean Austin's Spirit Phone Innovations app also uses what it calls "advanced AI" to analyze audio for electronic voice phenomena, a recorded sound that some investigators interpret as spirit voices.
