Meta works with Chinese firm Fourier on Max robot prototype

Meta robotics VP Li-Chen Miller spent nearly two months at Fourier's Shanghai factory helping build Max, a robot prototype that can already pick up small bottles and toys with five-fingered hands, according to The Information.

Fourier is a Chinese company that mainly acts as a contract manufacturer for Meta.

A Meta spokesperson says the Fourier work is only for internal research and testing, with no plans to sell these products now. The Information reports that Chinese suppliers offer faster delivery and lower costs than U.S. sources.
