Microsoft releases optional non-security preview updates for Windows 11 versions 26H2 and 25H2 (KB5127936) and 26H1 (KB5127653).

The 26H2 and 25H2 update makes Edge launch faster when it is already running in the background. A Tips widget, Open apps maximized, Emoji 17.0 support and a Copilot key remap are rolling out gradually.

Microsoft says the optional updates let users preview new features before broader rollout and test upcoming fixes before they reach the next monthly security update.
