Google's Gemini 4 Carbon praised for knowledge work; Perplexity reports early evals

Google's Paige Bailey says Gemini 4 Carbon is built for knowledge work and complex scientific tasks.

Perplexity's Aravind Srinivas reports early evaluations showing it is the strongest model his team has tested for long-form research and answer quality, with a new state of the art on the Wide-And-Deep-Research (WANDR) benchmark.

Perplexity says Gemini 4 Carbon will come to all Pro and Max users inside its Computer product once it has sufficient token capacity. The evaluation results come from Perplexity and have not been independently verified.
