Modal adds Endpoint Candidates to test models on mirrored traffic

Modal introduces Endpoint Candidates, a feature that mirrors traffic from an existing Endpoint to a candidate endpoint, according to a post from Modal's X account on October 12, 2026.

Modal says teams can use it to evaluate new inference checkpoints or different models against live requests. Teams can then promote a candidate to production with one click, Modal says.
