Google Cloud makes spend caps on Cloud Budgets generally available
Overview
Google Cloud says spend caps on Cloud Budgets are now generally available.
A cap pauses usage on a project or service once its budget is breached, without deleting resources. A spend caps API lets teams apply, update, or lift caps in code, and enforced caps can reset automatically at the start of each month.
For AI services, Google says caps trigger within minutes of usage, based on estimated live costs shown in Cost Reports. Provisioned Throughput is exempt: Google says it is never halted, and requests using reserved capacity keep running and serving traffic.
