Miles Brundage jokes that Bay Area AGI enthusiasts cycle through book obsessions

Miles Brundage, a former OpenAI policy researcher, says on X that Bay Area people focused on AGI tend to read one book or book series at a time.

He lists The Making of the Atomic Bomb, The Three Body Problem, Seeing Like a State, and Robert Caro's LBJ biographies as past phases. He jokes that future phases may give way to more essays and podcasts. The post is a joke about a community habit and makes no factual claim about AI.
