Overview
TemPad Dev 1.0 is a Chrome extension with a local MCP service that lets Codex, Claude Code and Cursor read Figma designs and write matching code, according to developer meng shao.
The project is free, open source and released under the MIT license.
Agents can also create and modify native Figma layers, but only when they have edit permission on the file. Read-only files and Dev Mode allow reading only. The tool requires Node.js 22, 24 or 26 or later.
