Claude Code gzips conversation payloads each turn and cloud sessions start on typing

Anthropic says Claude Code now gzips the conversation it sends to the model on every turn, so requests arrive faster.

The same update starts cloud sessions as soon as the user begins typing, according to a post from the ClaudeDevs account on X dated 2026-10-16. The post gives no figures for how much faster either change makes Claude Code.
