Will Depue, tied to OpenAI, predicts AI executive-work and self-improvement timelines

Will Depue, whose X account is listed as an OpenAI account owner, predicts on October 22, 2026 that everyone will soon have a 99th-percentile AI chief of staff and negotiator, and that high executive-function labor will be revolutionized within 10 months.

He says competency and detail orientation are scarce among humans but will not be scarce in AI. In a later post dated October 31, 2026, he says full recursive self-improvement could arrive within 18 months, possibly followed by the singularity, and calls shorting AI lab capabilities a mistake.

The posts give no supporting data or evidence beyond Depue's own predictions. Neither report says whether OpenAI endorses these timelines.
