Unsloth and GSQ-RCO dispute benchmark results for DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash GGUF quants
Overview
Unsloth AI says its 1-bit DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash-1017 GGUF scores 68.1 on DeepSWE, 72.2 on Terminal-Bench and 52.7 on AutomationBench at 512K context, and that its quants score more than 10% higher than GSQ-RCO's on five of its benchmarks.
Unsloth says it ran its other 14 benchmarks at 128K context with fixed grading and infrastructure. It also says its re-measurement of GSQ-RCO's IQ1_M and IQ2_XXS quants gave lower recovery figures than GSQ-RCO claims. Co-founder Daniel Han says Unsloth has published its methods, that GSQ-RCO has not, and that the team asked GSQ-RCO for more detail on how its benchmarks were run. Han says Unsloth used 35.1B tokens of benchmarking, compared with 1.3B before. These are Unsloth's own measurements, and Unsloth says it will run more tests if GSQ-RCO provides details of its benchmark setup.
