Elon Musk says electricity production is the best metric for the true strength of any large-scale economy.

In an X post, he quotes a post from the venture firm a16z that charts energy capacity against economic capacity and argues that no rich country has low electricity.

The report carries only Musk's claim and the a16z argument as he quotes it. It does not include any data on individual countries' electricity output or economic size.
