Gergely Orosz recommends Cat Hicks's book on software team psychology

Gergely Orosz recommends Dr Cat Hicks's recent book, Psychology of Software Teams, on X on October 17, 2026.

He says Hicks argues that most companies and teams misunderstand how developers operate and treat them as "brains in jars." Orosz says AI now enters that already-strained setting. The recommendation is Orosz's own claim; the post does not include independent evidence for Hicks's argument.
