OpenAI's Boris Power replies "Very impressive!!" to a post by Herman Brunborg reporting that he cut NanoGPT Speedrun from 39.9 seconds to 6.7 seconds, an 83.2% reduction.

Brunborg says the gain came from retrieval-augmented n-gram hints for rare web content.
