Robot rental prices have taken a HIT as demand drops, per Jiemian News.
During this year's National Day holiday, renting a Unitree G2 robot dog or a Unitree G1 humanoid robot cost just around $70 a day. This is a huge drop from 2025, when daily rental rates for a G1 robot ranged between $1,110 and $2,080, occasionally rising past $2,780.
Buying humanoid robots to rent out for mall performances and weddings was initially seen as a new business model. However, as manufacturers deliver more units, the excitement has faded.
To create long-term demand, Agibot is partnering with theme park company Chimelong Group to build a robot-themed amusement park. The park plans to use over 300 robots to give tours and host interactive games. Whether this will prove as a functional business model remains to be seen.
