X article lists which AI coding agent posts gained reach this week

AIA solo developer describes a nightly Grok bot that scans AI coding agent posts on X and flags outliers beating each account's usual engagement. Its Oct 23–30 scan found usage and limit news led all categories, with Claude's plan rename reaching 3.66M impressions and an OpenCode DeepSeek V4.1 Flash usage post reaching 439k.

I have my X Researcher Grok bot scan the AI coding agent niche every night.

Here's what actually got reach, replies and bookmarks, and why. Each pattern comes with a template you can copy for your own posts.

No gatekeeping. Take what's useful 👇 https://x.com/i/article/2116577070218354688

What actually worked in AI coding agent posts this week (and how to use it)

I have a Grok Bot that scans the AI coding agent niche on X every night. Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode, Grok, MCP, and the building-in-public crowd around them. It doesn't just grab the biggest posts. It flags the ones that did way better than that account usually does, because those are the ones you can actually learn from.

I don't gatekeep, so here's what a week of scans (Oct 23 to Oct 30) showed, why each pattern worked, and a template you can copy for your own posts. Every number below came from the post itself when the scan ran. No made-up stats.

1. Usage and limits news beats everything

If it touches what people pay or how much they can run, it wins. Nothing else in the niche came close this week.

- Claude's plan rename (Max 5x became Max, Max 20x became Ultra, and the 5-hour limit dropped for verified Ultra accounts) got 3.66M impressions and 1.7k quotes.

- @ajambrosino on Codex limits going back to doubled got about 600k impressions and 2.6k replies. It was a short "your feedback worked" and then "now send me your complaints."

- @thsottiaux's "Day 18" Codex update ending "that's a reset!" got 10.3k likes and 1.5M impressions.

- OpenCode's "$100 of usage for DeepSeek V4.1 Flash" got 439k impressions from one sentence.

- @theo's Codex plan math got 536 likes and 82 replies with real dollar figures and a screenshot.than any launch. Your own numbers are the angle nobody else has.

Why it works: every daily user feels it in their wallet the same day. The quotes on Claude's post tell you people wanted to add their own take, not read another summary.

How to use it: don't explain the news. Everyone already saw it. Add your real numbers.

I'm on [plan] + [plan]. With [the change], here's what my day of agents looks like now: [real numbers]. Who's going to hit their weekly cap first?

2. Security PSAs with checks people can run

The posts that got saved this week were security posts with steps, not vibes.

- @ryaneshea's Claude Code PSA got 74.9k impressions against his usual 356. That's roughly 210x normal. It opened with "PSA for Claude Code users:" and listed facts he checked himself about the Bun runtime Claude Code bundles and the Brotli RCE flaw. It got 594 bookmarks, more than its 583 likes.

- @LimestoneHQ's 10 security-audit prompts for Claude Code got 16.9k impressions, about 3 to 4x usual, as a numbered list.

- levelsio's VPS post got 518k impressions with one practical fix: put your VPS behind Tailscale and Cloudflare Tunnel.

- @illyism's AI agent firewall got 21k impressions and 723 bookmarks. First-person story with a villain: agents spoofing Googlebot on his sites.

The AGENTS.md-in-Downloads attack spread across dozens of accounts this week, and no personal take on it broke out. That's an open lane.

How to use it: verify the thing yourself first, then give people something they can do in 30 seconds.

PSA for [tool] users: [fact you checked yourself]. Here's the 30-second check: 1. [command] 2. [what to look for] 3. [fix]. Where do you launch your agents from?

3. Forced-choice questions

Make people pick a side and they will tell you why in the replies.

- @DanielSmidstrup's "you can only keep one of Claude Code, Codex or Cursor for 12 months" got 2.8k views and 100 replies, and it got copied all day.

- @JamesMalsawm asking which coding agent people actually pay for got 65 replies from one line.

- @shub0414 asking why Grok Build gets no attention got 15k impressions and 120 replies. Underdog angle.

- @manialok's AGENTS.md vs CLAUDE.md question got 27 replies on only 285 impressions.

- @KnightLogics' "I'd rather pick one coding agent per project" got 25 replies on 66 followers. A contrarian take on running agents in parallel started a real debate.

How to use it: name the options, pick one yourself, and keep it short.

[Option A], [Option B] or [Option C]: which are you actually paying for right now? I'm on [yours] because [one honest reason].

4. Self-aware satire (post it first)

The niche loves laughing at itself, as long as it ends on you and not on someone else.

- @Denche2005's "I've been on X for 15 minutes" got 3.0k impressions (about 3.4x usual) and 73 replies (about 10x usual). Five short lines poking fun at build-in-public. A bigger account reposted the same text later and flopped.

- @somudatta06's version got 28.7k impressions, 474 likes and 169 replies, about 30x usual. It ended on a self-own.

- @ArdenBuilds' "Indie hacker X is 4 posts on repeat" got 43 replies on 1.2k followers.

- @miraonpages' indie hacker joke got 37 replies on 122 followers.

How to use it: write what everyone in your corner of X is thinking, keep it to a few lines, make yourself the punchline, and be early. Copying a joke that already went around doesn't work.

I've been building with AI agents for [time]. So far: [true thing], [true thing], [true thing]. [Self-own].

5. Progress bars and honest small numbers

Small accounts got huge reply counts by sharing a public goal and asking people what they're building.

- @orguku's "DAY 11: 360 / 1000" got 64 replies on about 400 followers using a progress bar made of emoji. Their next one got 55 replies on 457 followers.

- @alohaproxy's 6K milestone got 119 replies.

- @Kedeodev's "$100 MRR, no team, no funding" got 58 replies on 1.1k followers.

- @justSoloDev's "New week, new builds" got 80 replies, about 19x their median.

- @hshipit's "show me your app" got 83 replies on 483 followers.

How to use it: pick one number you're actually chasing, show it as a bar, and close with an invite.

Day [N]: [current] / [goal] [users, MRR, followers]. 🟩🟩🟩⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ This week I shipped [one thing]. What are you building? Drop it below.

6. Hard-number hooks and demos

The biggest small-account outlier of the week was a launch, but not a normal launch.

- Darko Fabijan's SuperPlane 1.0 got about 149k views, 417 likes, 268 replies and 133 quotes from a 1.1k-follower account. It opened with a hard number ("52% of the PRs our team merged were automated"), named a pain everyone feels ("using a coding agent can feel like becoming its assistant") and had a 2-minute demo.

- Cursor's "Cursor can now control your computer" got 238k impressions and 4.8k likes from one line and a demo video.

- Cursor's Annotate for design mode got 159k views and 679 bookmarks by showing, not telling.

- @techNmak's Graphify post got 66k impressions, 928 likes and 1,431 bookmarks. The hook named one pain: map the codebase once, not grep it forever.

How to use it: lead with a number from your own work, then name the pain in plain words, then show it on video.

[X]% of [your work] this week was [done by agents]. Using a coding agent shouldn't feel like [pain]. Here's what that looks like: [short demo].

What didn't work

This part matters just as much.

- Templated news explainers. The Artificial Analysis Coding Agent Index v2 was everywhere, and the top posts on it barely cleared 800 views. Explainers about the Claude Code builders leaving Anthropic got little reach too, while opinion takes did better. My own Copilot Fusion explainer got 352 impressions on the hottest topic of the day. Same story.

- Me-too launches in a crowded lane. Orca, T3 Code, Herdr, BAND, jcode and a pile of other orchestrators showed up this week, and a lot of the launches had tiny reach. @stretchcloud noticed three posts announcing basically the same tool in one hour. If your lane is crowded, a point of view beats a feature list.

- Hashtag-heavy "let's connect" posts. They got reach without real engagement.

Your checklist before you post

1. Does it have a real number from your own work?

1. Is it your take, or a summary of news people already saw?

1. If it's security, did you verify it and give steps people can run?

1. Is there a clear choice or question for people to reply to?

1. Can you show it in a 20 to 60 second clip instead of describing it?

1. Are you early? If the joke or format already went around, skip it.

1. No hashtags, no hype words, no dunking.

I'll keep turning these nightly scans into posts like this. I run them with a Grok Bot while building Armadai (armadai.sh). Which of these formats are you going to try this week?
