Google ordered to halt work on two Finland data centers pending environmental review

Finland's Licensing and Supervision Agency ordered Google subsidiary Tuike Finland Oy to suspend building work at data center projects in Muhos and Kajaani until environmental impact assessments are completed.

The suspension covers tree removal, excavation, quarrying, and road construction, with a halt required by Oct. 23. Google said it acted in good faith under the Forestry Act and will follow the agency's guidance.
