OpenAI says users can now go back through a conversation, edit an earlier prompt, and resume from that point. The edit discards the messages and tool calls that follow the edited prompt so the model is not confused by them.

It works by discarding the messages/ tool calls post the edited prompt to make sure the model doesn’t get confused.
This has been a long requested feature, happy team shipped it!
