Switzerland starts a small self-driving pilot with SBB and WeRide

AISummary

A pilot project called iamo has started in Switzerland, using four self-driving cars to take people to the next train station. It is run with SBB, the Swiss rail operator, and uses technology from Chinese company WeRide, with a safety driver seated behind the wheel. The post's author hopes the pilot will build public and regulatory acceptance for other self-driving companies.

The first self-driving cars in Switzerland started a few days ago. It's a tiny pilot project called "iamo" in collab with SBB (swiss rail) that brings people to the next train station. Very small, only 4 cars and with safety driver sitting behind the wheel. Uses tech from Chinese company WeRide.

Hopefully it goes well and "warms up" the public and regulators so that many other self-driving cos will follow soon!
