Databricks argues enterprises need open-weight models alongside frontier models
AIDatabricks says seven pressures, including rising AI spend, changing model rankings, frontier guardrails that refuse some security work, and evolving data retention policies, are pushing enterprises toward open-weight models. It says top open-weight models now benchmark comparably to top frontier models at lower cost, and that Unity Gateway lets teams route between both through one governed API.
