DeepSeek adds standalone Search and Fetch APIs for agents at 5 yuan per 1,000 requests

DeepSeek has added Search and Fetch endpoints to its API platform, designed to give agent and RAG applications live web access without a third-party search provider.

Each costs 5 yuan per 1,000 successful requests, with only HTTP 200 responses that return content billed, and both are limited to 5 queries per second.

The source says Search calls made through Claude Code and Codex web search features will not incur fees for the first two weeks, after which standard pricing applies.
