Epic Games reportedly shifts Disney shooter to AI-first development

Bloomberg reports that Epic Games is moving its Disney collaboration to an "AI first" model, with AI such as Anthropic's Claude writing all code and generating all art while developers manage the output.

The report says the Marvel and Star Wars-themed shooter, slated for March 2027, is now delayed indefinitely.

Epic says it is embracing AI-accelerated development, and CEO Tim Sweeney says the aim is to build more and better, not to do the same with fewer people.
