Gergely Orosz reviews 125 essays, sets aside 15-20 heavily AI-written ones

Gergely Orosz says he is reviewing 125 submissions to The Pragmatic Engineer essay challenge, which required writers not to use AI. About 15 to 20 of the essays used AI heavily, so he will ignore them because separating the authors' own thinking from AI-generated text would take too much work.

@GergelyOrosz

I am reviewing the 125 essays submitted to The Pragmatic Engineer essay challenge, where the requirement was to NOT use AI

About 15-20 still used AI heavily, so I have to ignore them b/c it would be far too much work to tell what is their own thoughts+learnings vs AI made it up

One of the easiest ways to stand out when writing or creating videos or posting: DONT. USE. AI. Suddenly you sound distinctively different from 80%+ ppl who do and output the same verbose + nicely formatted stuff that feels all the same (+ most ppl stop paying attention midway)
