Police used AI-generated photos of a teen to lure a suspected predator

Livonia police arrested Christopher Thomas Mertens, a Chicago-area high school maintenance worker, after an investigator posed as a 15-year-old using an AI-generated image on the dating app Taimi. Mertens was arrested when he arrived at a meetup spot, after police tracked his car with Flock. Investigators used Thomson Reuters CLEAR and Clearview AI to identify him.
