Claude Code v2.1.319 adds MCP task background support and auto mode changes
AIAnthropic releases Claude Code v2.1.319, which moves MCP server tool calls run as tasks to the background in terminal sessions and reports the result to Claude when they finish. The release adds CLAUDE_CODE_DISABLE_MCP_TASK_BACKGROUND to keep those tasks in the tool call, and a permissions.denyInsteadOfPrompting setting that denies tool calls waiting on a permission prompt.
