Chronicle Bio builds AI platform matching drugs to patients by biology

AIFidji Simo, OpenAI's CEO of Applications, agrees that clinical trials and patient data will be the bottleneck as drug discovery gets cheaper. She says Chronicle Bio is building an AI data platform to match drugs to the right patients based on their observed biology across chronic illnesses.

“Once discovery gets cheap, the hard part is clinical trials and patient data”
Couldn’t agree more, and that’s where the bottleneck is about to be. We’re about to see an explosion of novel drug ideas, but without understanding patient biology and how to direct these drugs to the right patient subsets, we won’t materially increase the likelihood of success of clinical trials. That’s why @ChronicleBioAI is building the AI data platform to match the right drugs to the right people based on their observed biology, for every chronic illness.

fvcking amazing anthropic bought mithril medicine, a biotech run by one person the pattern behind it all: - apr: anthropic buys a <10 person ai bio team for ~$400m - jun: anthropic says it will run its own drug programs - oct: openai buys orchestra bio - oct: anthropic buys a biotech of one what this means: - the labs are buying how a team works, not a pipeline - they're becoming drug developers - once discovery gets cheap, the hard part is clinical trials and patient data - that's where the next big startups get built bio/acc
