OpenAI is on a talent tear.
In the last week, they’ve hired Austin Lau, Cat Wu, and Jill Hazelbaker.
Austin was the “one-man growth team” for Anthropic.
Cat was the head of product for Claude Code and one of Anthropic’s most prominent spokespeople.
Jill was Uber President and the only candidate in OpenAI’s exec search for Chief Corporate Affairs Officer (says CEO of Daversa).
Their talent momentum is great. Their product growth momentum is great. Let’s see some product development momentum next (hey, I don’t know about you, but I still prefer Opus 5.5).
