Andreessen Horowitz launches Securing America's Infrastructure Foundation for small cities and rural hospitals

Securing America's Infrastructure Foundation (SAIF), a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit incubated by a16z, will deliver AI-based cybersecurity tools, hands-on training and incident response at no cost to small municipalities, school districts and rural hospitals.

The group plans a pilot in two small cities in different regions and aims for 5-10 anchor cities over five years, starting with $25 million in committed funding from a16z's founding partners.

Ben Horowitz will initially lead the nonprofit as a volunteer, with an executive director to follow.
