Anthropic's ClaudeDevs says fast mode for Claude Opus 5.5 on the Claude Platform is no longer in research preview and the waitlist has been removed. The mode runs the same model up to 2.5x faster at $8 / $40 per million tokens. It is also available in Microsoft Foundry on Azure, with Google Cloud coming soon, while fast mode in Claude Code is unchanged and uses extra usage credits.
