Waymo announces plans to launch its robotaxi service in Madrid, Spain in 2027

Waymo says it is laying the groundwork for a fully autonomous ride-hailing service in the Region of Madrid, aiming to welcome its first riders in 2027.

The company will begin with manual driving and then move to technical validation with trained autonomous specialists behind the wheel.

Waymo also cites data from over 400 million fully autonomous kilometres showing 95% fewer crashes involving serious injury or worse than humans in the cities where it operates.
