Meta unveils IcePack, IceCube, and FPF networking for AI clusters at OCP 2026
Original titleOCP Summit 2026: Powering AI with Open Innovations in Scale-Up, Scale-Out, and Scale-Across Networks
Meta says it is sharing new open networking infrastructure at the 2026 Open Compute Project Global Summit, including its first liquid-cooled network rack, IcePack, and 102.4T switch blades, IceCube.
The company also introduces Flattened Planar Fabric, a multiplane scale-out fabric that gives each GPU eight independent 100G links, and launches the Open Switch Platform Architecture initiative within OCP with Microsoft and Alibaba.
The post explains how Meta's new open networking hardware and fabrics change GPU connectivity, helping engineers compare multiplane and scale-across designs for large AI clusters.
