Anthropic reports 11.4 million Claude account bans in first half of 2026

Anthropic's July report says it banned about 11.4 million Claude accounts in the first half of 2026 and received about 398,000 appeals, of which about 42,000 succeeded. The report does not break down the reasons for bans or show whether bans rose recently. Anthropic also plans to ban users from repeatedly subjecting Claude to extreme cruelty without a clear purpose starting November 12.
