Google Research introduces a geospatial reasoning agent and two new benchmarks
Original titlePutting Earth AI to work: Geospatial agents for our planet's biggest challenges
Google Research published a technical report on its experimental Geospatial Reasoning agent, which connects Gemini to Earth AI foundation models and planet-scale data.
The report compares four agent configurations across four benchmarks, including two new ones, GeoKTools and GeoExpertQueries, which Google is releasing for researchers.
Early partner testing and limited early access to Ask Google Earth and an agent-to-agent API are also announced.
The post gives benchmark results comparing agent configurations and describes partner use cases, helping readers judge whether specialized geospatial tools outperform general LLMs.
