Director Tsui Hark says AI blurs the line between reality and illusion

Director Tsui Hark said at the Lumière Festival in Lyon, France, on October 12 that AI is making it harder to tell real from fabricated content.

He said advertising, the internet and AI together are blurring the boundary between reality and illusion, and that audiences struggle to confirm whether images, video and text reflect real events.

The festival is screening four of his classic films in a retrospective.
