Bloomberg: Canva’s growth slowed for the first time in a decade, and its response affects 1,271 people, 22% of staff, through layoffs, role changes or relocation.
AI wasn’t named as a cause, and the overhaul is reportedly meant to equip Canva to build AI products rather than automate the work of departing staff.
Cost constrains that plan, since Canva has already delayed several AI launches because serving them to a mostly non-paying user base proved too expensive.
