Aether launches cloud coding agents that run on existing Claude and ChatGPT plans

AIAether announces cloud coding agents that run Claude Code or Codex on the Claude or ChatGPT plan users already pay for, so they avoid a second AI bill and pay only for the machine. Santiago, who quotes Aether's announcement, says a task starts a cloud build in about 20 seconds that keeps running after the laptop closes.

AIWhy it matters.

The post names Aether's cloud agent workflow, including running Claude Code or Codex on an existing subscription and paying only for the machine.

This runs Claude Code and Codex in the cloud with the plan you already pay for.

You only need to pay for the machine.

Here is what's cool about this:

You start from a Linear ticket, and the agent does the rest. If the ticket is too big, you'll get parallel agents working on it and returning a single PR.

Today we’re introducing Aether @aetherruntime. The fastest cloud coding agents in the world that you can use with your existing subscription Give it a task and just 20 seconds later your build is running on its own cloud machine. You can pick up from your phone, watch every line, and step in whenever you want as if it was local. Close the laptop. It keeps going. It runs Claude Code or Codex on the Claude or ChatGPT plan you already pay for so there’s not a 2nd AI bill. You only pay for the machine. When it’s done, if code review is enabled, a reviewer agent runs the code with the changes, which catches classes of bugs that can't be found from static analysis. Before building Aether I built infra at Apple, Uber, and HeyGen. I built Aether because the cloud agents I tried before all had drawbacks, and I couldn't imagine building something without it now. It’s free to start. http://runaether.dev
