Emergency managers' AI-drafted alerts raise accuracy concerns
AIEmergency managers are using generative AI to draft public alerts, but the tools can produce inaccurate content. Laura Myers, director of the University of Alabama's Center for Advanced Public Safety, said a county emergency manager used an AI chatbot to create a graphic of Hurricane Isaias threatening the Alabama coast, and it was not meteorologically accurate.
