Baidu wins World Internet Conference award for AI project that blocks illegal wildlife trade
AIBaidu won the social contribution category of the World Internet Conference's Outstanding Contribution Award at the 2026 Wuzhen summit for its "Endangered Species AI Guardian" project with the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW). The project's image recognition identifies endangered wildlife products with 86% accuracy across 34 species and categories, has screened nearly 500,000 images, and has helped remove about 18,000 illegal trade ads.
