ChatGPT side chats no longer expire or disappear after restarts

AIOpenAI says ChatGPT side chats no longer expire or disappear after a restart or update. The update also makes them faster to open, improves how they talk to the main chat, reduces failed tool calls, and clarifies activity.

archive or delete them on their own or with the main chat, or ask ChatGPT to clean up.

Side chats in ChatGPT no longer expire or disappear when you restart the app! When I joined OpenAI, I found this to be one of the biggest pain points for side chat users, and as of today, it's fixed. Never lose data just because you updated, restarted, etc.
