Memory chip stocks slide on China competition and 2029 oversupply fears
AISK Hynix has fallen 26%, Samsung 22% and Micron about 11% over five days as investors weigh CXMT's planned server memory product and a Maeil Business Newspaper column warning of oversupply in 2029. Analysts at Quilter Cheviot and Rosenblatt Securities doubt CXMT can scale production of the new architecture, while Counterpoint Research forecasts DRAM prices falling about 23% in 2028 but still up about 230% from 2025.
