AIHugging Face has released Carbon-X, an open-weight 14.8B-parameter model that reads raw DNA and answers in English, under Apache 2.0. It averages 66.7% on five DNA benchmarks, self-reported, and runs on one 80 GB GPU, while scoring 29.8% on GenomeQA splice-site questions.
